This shot was taken at the Milwaukee Art Museum. The piece was part of the new collection “The Tool At Hand”. Artists were encouraged to create an entire work using only one tool. This particular item was crafted using only thin wood dowels as the medium and wood glue as the tool. The intricate spirals were fascinating. I had intended to do a diptych with one of the shots being the one seen here, and another with the area of focus being the center of the spiral. However, I was interrupted while composing the shot by a staff member who claimed that, despite what the front desk had informed me about the photography ground rules, this particular exhibit had special photography prohibition.
Oh well. I happen to like the one I got away with…
